The Institute of the Chemistry of Plant Substances, named after Academician Sobir Yunusov, is a leading scientific institution under the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Founded in 1956 in Tashkent, the institute specializes in research on the chemical, pharmacological, toxicological, and biological properties of natural and synthetic compounds. Its mission is to discover and develop biologically active substances for applications in medicine and agriculture.

Over the years, the Institute has isolated and characterized thousands of new natural compounds, more than 35 of which have been introduced into clinical practice as pharmaceutical products. Additionally, the institution manufactures biologically active supplements and phytopreparations used in medicine and agriculture.
A portion of its products is exported to France, Russia, and other countries, reflecting the high level of trust in the quality and efficacy of its developments.

The Institute publishes the international scientific journal Chemistry of Natural Compounds, issued by Springer, which ranks among the leading publications in the field of phytochemistry.
